USA Berkey Water Filters, a Las Vegas-based distributor of Berkey® water filter systems, offers same day shipping of residential and personal use water filtration systems that are often used to aid in emergency preparedness. Sales ebb and flow with changing climatic and economic factors. Sales Director Jeff Gleason explains that events like the war in Ukraine, elections, and natural disasters all impact demand for clean water.
USA Berkey Filters saw an influx of traffic and sales in February 2023 in response to the tragic Ohio train derailment and its corresponding environmental impact.
“We have to adapt to customers and we have to make it easy,” described Gleason, “The option to pay over time is wonderful because (the water filter) can be a life-saving device. It can ease the stress of emergencies.” Gleason emphasizes he encourages his customers to pay off their purchase within the no-interest grace period.
“It is very stressful and we understand people’s urgency,” said Gleason of his customers, noting he and his team members work nearly seven days a week to calm people’s fears and ship products out daily. “It’s the nature of what we do. They want it now.”
Implementing Amazon Pay with Affirm
Gleason had considered implementing a standalone payment installment solution directly in the past and was actively looking for a “pay over time ” option when the opportunity arose to add Amazon Pay with Affirm to their existing instance.
“It was so easy,” Gleason said , reflecting on the less-than-one-week implementation. “It’s been seamless. I didn’t have to do anything.”
Upon implementation, the Affirm logo was added to the checkout buttons in the cart without requiring any technical lift from the USA Berkley Filters team.

“I feel like I should have gotten it earlier,” laughs Gleason. “There’s a lot of fraud in (credit card) processing. It was a great marriage to include Amazon Pay because of the low amount of fraud. It’s a great way to pay. It’s very simple. Ease of checkout has been awesome.”
