Interchangeable Fee

Interchange Fees vary by the type of payment instrument used and are controlled and set by third parties such as Visa and MasterCard, so any information is provided without any warranties, representations and guarantees. The table below summarises the approximate fees, however, for more detailed, accurate and current information, please check Visa’s and MasterCard’s websites.

Amazon Payments charges fees based on the Fee Schedule applicable to you at the time the order is placed.

For example: A Processing Fee of 3.4% (consisting of an Interchange Fee of 0.2% plus a Merchant Service Charge of 3.2% (i.e. 3.4% minus 0.2%)) plus an Authorisation Fee of £0.20 is charged when the purchase is successfully authorised and processed. A £0.20 Authorisation Fee will also be charged when a successful authorisation expires where the payment has not yet been captured.

If a £10 purchase is made on your website, your Interchange Fee would be £0.02 and your Merchant Service Charge would be £0.32 (i.e. £0.34 in total), according to our standard rate.  We would also charge an Authorisation Fee of £0.20. The total fee for this transaction would be £0.54, provided that the payment was captured before the authorisation expired.

If you qualify for a lower Processing Fee, we do not go back and recalculate the fees for orders placed before the date your Fee Schedule changed.
