‘Tis the season for helping those in need

This Giving Tuesday ask, “Alexa, I’d like to make a donation”, to support one of more than 330 charitable organizations using Alexa and Amazon Pay.

Whether it’s the endless parade of holiday parties, the hunt for a perfect gift, or simply trying to dodge all those sidewalk Santa’s, it’s all too easy to get distracted this time of year.

That’s why Giving Tuesday has become such a valuable addition to the holiday calendar – reminding us all to take a breather from the seasonal madness and give back to those who need it most. To celebrate, we’ve added a special section to our holiday gift guide, supporting a different type of giving this season.

Founded in 2012, Giving Tuesday is an international day of charitable giving, in which we’re all encouraged to pay it forward and help the less fortunate during this month of giving. The simple idea has become a global phenomenon – last year more than $400 million was donated on the day.

And now, participating in Giving Tuesday has never been easier. You can make a donation to select charities using your voice, thanks to Alexa and Amazon Pay.

Simply say, “Alexa, I’d like to make a donation” to any one of more than 330 charitable organizations, and Amazon Pay will use the information stored in your Amazon account to complete the donation.

Among the remarkable charities you can support are the American Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders USA, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Toys for Tots, and many, many more.

This holiday season, Alexa and Amazon Pay are helping you not only give to those you love, but also give back to those who need it most.
