Atom Tickets, the first-of-its-kind social movie ticketing service, is on a mission to make going to the movies even more entertaining. The user-friendly website and app lets moviegoers browse films, buy movie tickets, invite friends, and pre-order their favorite movie concessions so that fans can skip the lines at the theater. It also allows moviegoers to link their Atom account with some of the most popular movie theater chain loyalty programs to earn points while buying on Atom including AMC Stubs, Regal Crown Club and Disney Movie Rewards.
Moviegoing is becoming a more digital experience with more moviegoers buying movie tickets online (via websites and apps) than ever before – fans want a premium experience and an easy way to access it. In fact, online movie ticket purchases rose 18.7% in 2018 while in-theater buying of tickets slid 5.4% per a report from Webedia Movies Pro and Vertigo Research. In just over two years, the award-winning movie tickets app has grown its audience to 6 million monthly visitors.
Innovation in digital ticketing
Based in Santa Monica, Atom Tickets has built a reputation on implementing innovative marketing techniques that help studios, exhibitors and brands maximize revenue opportunities. The company’s end game is to help movie lovers discover films and buy tickets wherever and however they want. To achieve this, Atom has signed on many new partners this past year that extend their ticketing experience beyond their own movie ticket app and website.
Movie fans can now buy movie tickets from Atom while on Facebook and can scan their Atom digital movie ticket at a theater using their Apple watch. They can even “drive and buy” through a first-of-its-kind integration with Honda’s Dream Drive program that helps commuters buy movie tickets while on the go.
A new frontier in digital payments
Atom’s innovative approach to ticketing has led them into a collaborative relationship with Amazon. Atom powered three recent promotions giving Amazon Prime members the exclusive chance to see blockbuster movies like Aquaman, Hotel Transylvania 3 and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle before the official movie release dates.
Recently, the company began using Amazon Pay, allowing customers to speed through checkout by buying movie tickets with the payment information stored in their Amazon account. They’ve since offered special deals for customers who use Amazon Pay on Atom to see movies like last year’s action thriller Venom and this year’s family film Wonder Park.
Atom is also enabling hands-free purchasing with Alexa and Amazon Pay. Theirs is the only movie ticketing skill that lets customers reserve seats by voice. “Atom Tickets is among the first to integrate Amazon Pay with our Alexa skill, which helps skip tedious steps during payment,” said Chris Brucia, the Head of Product at Atom. Now customers with Alexa-enabled devices can just ask, “Alexa, ask Atom for movie tickets,” to find out which movies are playing near them, buy tickets with their voice, and then pay with securely stored payment information.
