As we check-in with businesses who offer our checkout, we’ve learned how a number of Amazon Pay merchants have setup their own relief initiatives in the face of the coronavirus crisis. Here’s how some companies are mobilizing to support the community:
The Bay Area’s hip sneaker company announced last week that it would give free shoes to any health care worker who reached out. Allbirds shared that it was overloaded by the sheer volume of responses -- donating $500,000 worth of shoes. Allbirds is now asking the public to help with donations, using a “buy one, give one” model to split the cost on donated shoes.
FIGS is committing to donating 30,000 scrubs to hospitals in need in the next two months (with more 12k donated so far). FIGS has gone above and beyond, donating $500,000 to the Frontline Responders Fund, sending hundreds of care packages to medical professionals who need them most every week, and have produced five million N95 masks as well as 2 million isolation gowns through their global supply chain -- selling them at cost to state and city governments and hospitals across the country. They believe ‘clean scrubs and finances should be the absolute last thing on your mind’ so on top of all their efforts, they’re offering 25% off select styles. Learn more.
Dyson recently received an order from the UK government for 10,000 ventilators to support efforts by the country's National Health Service to treat coronavirus patients. In a show of extraordinary action in extraordinary circumstances, Dyson has designed a new ventilator in 10 days. The company is making 15,000 ventilators for the pandemic fight.
Aviator Nation is taking care of their customers with free shipping and extended returns, while also taking care of their employees. With the required shutdown of their factory and fulfillment centers in California due to government guidance, Aviator Nation is still offering free shipping and redirecting orders so proceed go directly toward the wages of their employees including factory workers, hourly retail workers and fulfillment teams.
Summersalt is partnering with the BrandsxBetter Coalition to dontate $15 from every $125+ order during the month of April to No Kid Hungry. Through this relief effort they open to help ensure children are adequately fed during the crisis.

Is offering a 30% discount on its weighted blankets for veterans, medical professionals & first responders. On top of that, the company is offering a 15% “work from home” discount for general customers.
Reese Witherspoon, founder of Draper James, is giving free dresses to teachers, to show her gratitude for all their extra work during this time.
Black Rifle Coffee Co.
For every coffee purchase on www.blackriflecoffee.com, Black Rifle will donate a bag of coffee or a can of its newly released ready-to-drink coffee to medical personnel, first responders, and service members.
Boll and Branch
They've begun manufacturing mattresses and pillows to donate to emergency medical operations in the fight against COVID-19. This is helping to keep workers employed, and helps medical and government agencies prepare for and respond to this crisis. Brooklyn bedding has been working with health care and government agencies to help make hospital beds during the coronavirus pandemic. This special line of hospital beds are transportable, and the company is bringing those beds to hospitals in NYC area.
Gryphon has repurposed several of their factories to begin producing reusable face masks for frontline health-care workers with a proprietary health-care textile that offers an increased level of protection. They've been working with the New York City Mayor’s office and other governmental and private health-care providers to provide free face masks for frontline health-care workers — and shipments have already started.

A 12-hour streaming charity marathon raised $2.8 million for the World Health Organization's COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, powered by the United Nations Foundation. It featured some of the biggest names in gaming, music, and sports.
The company has donated $20,000 to Direct Relief to help fund COVID-19 relief efforts across the United States. This money will go towards providing protective masks, exam gloves and isolation gowns to healthcare organizations with confirmed cases throughout the country.

Hulu has added a free live news stream to its on-demand app to keep viewers informed 24/7 when having access to information is vital. This 24/7 live coverage is available to Hulu and Disney billed on-demand subscribers as part of their subscription and providing 45% of their viewers with news access – who wouldn’t otherwise have it.

Good American is providing 30% off full price items, with a portion of proceeds benefitting Baby2Baby, an organization dedicated to providing children living in poverty with the necessities every child deserves.
Grenson reduced all the prices on their site by 20% for two weeks to make things more affordable for customers. On top of that, they’ve been advocates for health workers, offering to provide a free pair of shoes to a new doctor or nurse that is nominated on social daily.
Forever 21 is donating to and supporting customers donating to Direct Relief, an organization that prides itself on helping survivors of disaster and poverty in the US and globally.
